Keeping Your Classroom Healthy

Allison is a second grade teacher in California who has 31 students in her class. She called because she’s been sick since school began.

She says a lot of it is because she is working with children who are also sick a lot, and the space is just tiny so they’re all packed together really tightly.

She was online looking at the Classroom Air Purifier and wanted more information. Here are her questions and the answers.

Is it quiet? Yes, it is the sound of rushing air that will not be noticed by you or your students except for the wonderful way 250 cubic feet of fresh air every 60 seconds makes you feel!

Will it fit in my already crowded room?
Yes it is powerful but small, measuring 23 inches high, 14 ½ inches deep and 14 ½ inches wide.

What is the maintenance like?
You can choose to vacuum the outside of the unit to pull the big particles away from the first pre-filter inside the unit. This prolongs the life of the unit.

Thousands of teachers are in similar situations. And if you are one of them, clearing the air with an air purifier that can remove particles, gases, bacteria and viruses can keep you and your class on track for a great year.

We sent this air purifier to Allison and she is excited about the difference it will make for her health and those of her students. The Classroom Air Purifier is also used by School District 72 (British Columbia), Thompson Middle School (Georgia), Lakeview Elementary (New York), Mahopac Schools (New York) and the list goes on and on.

Animal Shelter Air Purifier

We received a letter today from Bonnie at the animal shelter in Missouri. She was writing because she ordered the Pet Machine in September and she states “it’s working so well, we’ve decided to order another one.”

This air cleaner is designed with pets and pet shelters in mind. With a cartridge containing 4 filters, it effectively eliminates both particles and smells. And in a shelter situation a unit must be able to address both.

The Pet Machine contains 3 filters for particles. The first two filters are called pre-filters and they are designed to trap big and medium size particles that you can see such has hair, fur, and dust.

The third filter for particles is a HEPA or high efficiency particles arresting filter. By definition it eliminates airborne particles that are as small as .3 microns in size. This filter is crucial because it eliminates invisible airborne dander and this reduces the mite population that feeds on the dander.

The HEPA also eliminates bacteria and viruses that generally move from one host to the next by attaching to particles. Eliminating these germs can keep both 2 and 4-legged creatures healthier.

The fact that an animal shelter is pleased with this cleaner is the acid test for its effectiveness. If it can work for an animal shelter in the "show me state" of Missouri, it can work for you!

Eliminating Ferret Musk Smell

The increasing popularity of ferrets as pets is concrete evidence that they make great household companions.

What is not so great is the musky smell that they often emit. And sometimes there can even be a urine smell that accompanies it.

As the proud owner, you may no longer notice the smell, but others entering your home will not be as lucky.

Ferret odor can be very strong and off-putting, and really down right embarrassing when family, neighbors and friends visit.

The only way to minimize the odor is to continually filter the air with an air cleaner that contains carbon. Long known for its ability to remove gaseous pollutants, it is the most effective solution for this problem. And enhancing the carbon with an additive that is specifically designed to remove the ammonia component in urine is the best way to be prepared should the problem arise.

PurerAir.com offers a cleaner that not only has an enhanced carbon filter, but 3 filters for eliminating hair and dander as well as a HEPA (high efficiency particle arresting) filter for eliminating particulates including bacteria and viruses down to .3 microns in size.

We continue to send this cleaner to ferret rescue shelters; and if works for them, it will surely work for you. Love your ferret and lose the smell with help from the air purifier at http://purerair.com/austin_air_pet_machine.html

Wood Smoke Air Purifier

As the days and nights grow cooler, more of us turn to wood burning stoves to take the chill off the air. But sometimes despite your best efforts, smoke gets into the air.

Not only is the smell not good, but allowing in your air continually means fine particulates will settle on furniture and other surfaces.

Moving through your home can cause these tiny particulates to go airborne again and again. This means they are in your clothes, on your furniture, and often when you or others who live in your home enter a room, the smell of smoke lets everyone know that you heat with wood.

But even more than the unpleasant aesthetics of smoke smell, it’s unhealthy to breathe. The chemicals and the particles can exacerbate chronic conditions such as asthma and allergies. It can also trigger acute symptoms that could possibly become chronic if the smoke continues through the winter months.

Keeping the air clear of smoke by filtering the air is a proactive yet non-invasive way to keep smoke from becoming a problem for you and your family.

PurerAir.com offers the smoke air purifier that contains 3 filters strictly designed to eliminate particles, and a 4th filter that can eliminate noxious chemicals, gases, and odors as well as particles.

Breathe healthier by minimizing the risks and enjoying the benefits of your wood burning stove. See the Smoke Air Purifier from PurerAir.com now at http://purerair.com/smoke_air_purifier.html

Nail Salon Air Purifier

Tory called last night to ask about the Nail Salon Air Purifier. She owns her own business and works in a space that is about 700 square feet. She also has a room that connects to her shop where another stylist does hair.

She said she first became aware of how bad the smell in her salon was when several repair men came to do some work several weeks ago.

They couldn’t stop talking about how bad the air smelled and wanted to know whether it was safe for them to stay and do the repair.

That’s when Tory said she realized that while they were concerned about being in her shop for only an hour or two, maybe she should be concerned to0 because she works there every day from about 9:30 am to 8:00 pm.

She said she had tried another air purifier but it didn’t take out the fumes. And now she believes it was because it did not contain a carbon filter.

Tory is right about a lot, and it’s good that she has realized how bad the chemical fumes can be in her space. Being in the shop hour after hour dulls the body’s ability to smell the fumes.

But once they are absorbed into the body, they make extra work for the liver to eliminate. They also irritate the eyes, nose, and lungs and can cause acute symptoms such as nausea, dizziness, stinging eyes, dry throat and a bunch of other unpleasant side effects.

Tory decided to let us send her our air cleaner which offers 4 filters in a canister. Three of them are designed to remove particles that range in size from the ones you can see (pre-filters) to those that are as small as .3 microns in size (HEPA filter).

This cleaner also contains 15 pounds of activated carbon zeolite that is enhanced with a special additive to improve its ability to remove volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) that are all too common in nail salon products.

And one of the best features about this cleaner is that the filter is guaranteed for 5 years. It’s also low maintenance which means you won’t ever need to go inside the unit to spray, clean, wash or vacuum the filter.

Tory is looking forward to enjoying 250 cubic feet of fresh, virtually chemical-free air being sent into her salon every 60 seconds.

We can send this same purifier to you today for your salon! See the cleaner that continues to cause a buzz in your industry now at http://purerair.com/nails.html

Zero Dander Dogs

Unfortunately, there is no such animal. All dogs produce dander, albeit some more than others.

But these dead flakes of skin are the body’s way of getting rid of old, weakened and sometimes damaged skin to make way for newer healthier skin. The newer skin is more able to protect the body against disease and infection.

However, if you are looking for a dog without dander, chances are the protein in the dead skin is causing allergies, asthma, or other respiratory conditions to worsen.

This is not surprising since pet dander is one of the most potent allergens known. That fact does nothing to help you if the puppy dog that you love is causing you to sneeze.

Removing pet dander is probably one of the most “Googled” search terms, so you are not alone in reacting poorly to this allergen. One of the tried and true solutions for getting relief from airborne triggers like this one is to avoid it.

Filtering the air is one of the best ways to drastically reduce the amount in your indoor air, thus reducing your contact with the allergen and the symptoms it causes. A HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting filter is the best type to have for the job.

It can remove not only pet-related allergens but other normal household irritants such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, smoke, seasonal pollens, as well as bacteria and viruses. And it can remove them down to .3 microns in size, with a micron being defined as one millionth of a meter.

PurerAir.com has provided relief to hundreds of clients by sending the Pet Dander Air Purifier to them. Designed to run 24 hours a day every day it sends 250 cubic feet of fresh clean air into your home every 60 seconds. So even though there are no zero dander dogs, this is the next best thing.

Clean Bedroom Air

As productive as we are, the fact remains that when we’re home the majority of our time is spent in the bedroom. That makes it extremely important for the air to be as fresh and clean as possible. Your good health is at stake.

One of the best ways to clear the air is to filter it. There are both gaseous and particulate pollutants that the cleanest of homes have, and unless you actively filter the air they can linger in the air for days.

For those who have allergies and asthma these can cause flare-ups that range from aggravating to life-threatening.

For instance, did you know that the bedroom is a favorite place for dust mites to breed? And the dust mite is one of the most potent allergens known! The warm, dark, food-rich environment of the bed allows these critters to thrive on dead skin flakes in our linens.

If your pet has its bedding in your bedroom room too, these mites will also get fat on pet dander. Add to this lovely picture household dust, mold and mildew spores, fumes from furniture and/or carpet, scents for personal and household products and it’s no wonder so many people have difficulty sleeping.

The National Sleep Foundation has endorsed an air purifier specifically designed for the bedroom. And PurerAir.com has sent it all across the country to clients who are now sleeping peacefully all night, every night.

Filtering Classroom Air Effectively

With lots of big or little bodies in a classroom, the air can become unhealthy for a lot reasons.

Coughs, colds, and even flu germs can conveniently move from host to the next by attaching to particles and being inhaled.

Allergies can be triggered when pet dander from one person’s clothes goes airborne and is inhaled by those who suffer with allergies and asthma.

The cleaning solution used on the desks the night before can still be off-gassing smells that give some headaches and make it hard to care about what’s going on in the class.

Dust from the redo can still be airborne causing some to become congested, irritable, and less then able to concentrate on the subject at hand.

And the list goes on and on. Without an air cleaner that you control, you and your students are at the mercy of these pollutants and more.

By controlling your air quality with a portable air purifier, you can improve the atmosphere in your classroom with a by-product of increased productivity.

The Classroom Air Purifier from PurerAir.com has a canister of 4 filters that will remove both particulates and gases from your air.

Once you experience 250 cubic feet of fresh clean air every 60 seconds you’ll wonder why you ever lived without it.

Control African Grey Dust

If you have an African Grey Parrot , you have a beautiful, smart, and dusty bird. The white powder that settles over everything can be daunting. The dust is a never ending process that helps support the health of their wings.

Not only is the dust unsightly, but unhealthy for you and your bird. Continually breathing air that is thick with particles can clog their incredibly tiny air passages.

Clogged airways often allow disease and infection to gain a foothold. And unfortunately it is often impossible to reverse the disease.

For humans this powder can aggravate existing respiratory problems such as allergies and asthma, and it can also cause problems for those who formerly had none.

Filtering the air is the best, most reliable, yet non-invasive way to reliably take particles, odors, and gases out of the air before they affect your bird’s health. And it is important that the air cleaner be able to effectively eliminate both gaseous and particulate pollutants.

The Bird Dust Air Purifier from Purer Air.com is specifically designed with 4 filters to target particles that vary in size from those you can see down to those that are sub-micron in size. And because the 4th filter is carbon cloth, it can remove both gaseous pollutants as well as particulates.

Not only is this air cleaner used by thousands of homeowners with African Grey Parrots and other powder down birds, but it is also used by commercial aviaries such as the Aviary at Theater of the Sea in Islamorada, Florida and the Joshua Rescue Foundation for Birds.

Eliminating Parrots’ White Dust

If you have parrot that produces white dust, you probably have an African Grey, Cockatoo, or Cockatiel. They are all incredibly beautiful and intelligent birds and they are all powder down birds.

You may or may not have realized exactly what that meant when you adopted, but it probably didn’t take long for you to understand more fully exactly what that meant and how much of a daily impact it would have.

This white dust is produced as a natural part of your avian friend’s growth and development and promotes healthy wings. And while you have good reason to be happy your bird is healthy, that doesn’t help much with the constant clean up that is needed to even stay even with the dust.

The most effective way to minimize the dust, and nothing will get rid of it completely, is to eliminate it when it’s in the air. This is a great plan for 2 reasons. First, if you can get it out of the air there is less chance for you and your bird to inhale it.

From a bird’s eye view, continually inhaling air that is thick with particles clogs air passages. Clogged air passages are often the start of illnesses and diseases that are impossible to reverse.

From the human side, constantly inhaling this type of dust can cause the onset of allergies, asthma, and possible nodes in the lungs. Taking it out while it’s airborne reduces the chance of all 3 of those nasties. It also means there is less dust for you to clean off of surfaces. And that’s a good thing.

See the bird dust air purifier that will constantly eliminate bird dust, other normal household particles as well as gases, odors, and airborne chemicals (all of which can be detrimental to your bird’s good health) at http://purerair.com/bird_dust_air_purifier.html

Keeping Indoor Air Healthy

As the change in weather signals the arrival of fall and winter temperatures, we close out the chilly air and try to stay warm until spring.

But unless you actively remove particulates and germs from you air, it can become unhealthy pretty quickly.

Germs, bacteria, household dust, dust mites, smoke from wood burning stoves and fireplaces, pet dander from your pet or from a pet of someone you work or go to school with.

Forced air heat stirs up pollutants each time it comes on and without a filter that is fine enough to trap these pollutants, the air your home can become your worse enemy.

HEPA filtration has long been recognized as the best technology for removing airborne particles. Because of its fine reputation, it is what hospitals use to keep their air clean.

This type of filter is able to remove airborne particles as small as .3 microns in size. But as great as HEPA filters are at removing particles, they can’t help with gaseous pollutants.

Carbon is the material for removing gases, odors, chemicals and smoke from the air. And a carbon cloth filter offers a wonderful combination of removing both particles because it is a cloth and gaseous pollutants because it is made of carbon.

PurerAir.com offers an air purifier that has both carbon cloth and HEPA filters as well as additional pre-filters for removing the big particles that you can often see in the air. So the 4 filters in the canister can multi-task and eliminate the variety of irritants that are likely to be found in your air.

The benefit to you is that one air purifier can solve your problems by removing all types of airborne pollutants. That means you indoor air stays healthy through the winter, and you and your family are more likely to do the same.
