Summer Allergy Season Tips

This year June 21 marks the official start of summer, but if you are allergic to grass pollen, mold and mildew spores or weed pollen your body may have already signaled summer’s arrival.  These symptoms can at first seem like a cold.

The stuffy nose, cough, watering eyes, and sneezing can all resemble cold symptoms.  But a cold generally lasts 5 to 10 days and is gone.  Allergy symptoms can last as long the irritant is around.

Depending on where you live the last weed pollen can hang around until the first frost in December.  That’s probably not what you wanted to hear, but it’s true.

There’s nothing to be done about the pollen outdoors.  Moving won’t help because spores can be blown for miles from where they originated.  And it’s not possible to stay indoors all the time.  So a management strategy is essential.

Stop the air exchange between indoor and outdoor air.  Use air conditioning and keep windows closed regardless of the temperature outside. Keep car windows closed as well as the vent to outside air.

Keep filters changed on the return for the central air conditioning system.  Isolate clothes and shower immediately when coming in from outside.  This will help reduce the amount of pollen that is introduced into your indoor air.

Use HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting air purifier to remove the seasonal allergens as well as the chronic indoor irritants that can combine to create havoc with allergies.

PurerAir.com offers the Hay Fever Air Purifier that can send 250 cubic feet of fresh clean air into your home every 60 seconds.  See it now at http://purerair.com/hay_fever_air_purifier.html

Spring Pollen Covers All

Pollen is coating everything, walkways, cars, lawn furniture, and you even if you keep moving.  If you are allergic it may seem hard to escape these tiny, relentless granules.

Just walking to the mailbox and back can cause you to have your shoes, clothes, and hair covered with a light coat of the stuff.

And so the sneezing, coughing, congestion and watering eyes begin.

The point is that however careful you are about keeping outdoor air separate from indoor air, some pollen will get in.  No reason to lose sleep over it, but there is plenty of reason to take proactive yet non-invasive steps to minimize the amount in your indoor air.
Opening the windows is the last thing you want to do, so what is necessary is to the filter your indoor air.  The cleaner that you choose for the job needs to be incredibly effective at removing particles, pollen in particularly, but other indoor particulates in general.
Studies have shown that most people who are allergic are sensitive to a number of allergens, many of which hang around in indoor air regardless of the pollen count outside.
The best type of filter to have for particle removal is a high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) filter that is specifically designed to remove particles that are .3 microns or bigger.  That makes it a winner for removing tree, grass, and weed pollens as well as dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pet dander, and just regular old household dust.
The more filters the unit contains the better.  Because even though the HEPA can remove microscopic particles, it would fill up pretty fast on big particles if it was the only filter working.  The solution for more efficient cleaning (and less money out of your pocket) is to have additional filters that can trap the big particles while saving the invisible ones for the more expensive HEPA.
The Hay Fever Air Purifier does just that.  It has a 4-stage filtration that contains 2 pre-filters for big particles as well as carbon cloth that can remove both particles and odors.  These filters are in addition to the high efficiency filter.
Put this cleaner to work for you now to prevent pollen from derailing your life.  See it now at http://purerair.com/hay_fever_air_purifier.html

Solutions for Controlling Pollen

Regardless of whether it’s tree, grass, or weed pollen, there are some common denominators for minimizing the effect that pollen has on you in your indoor space.

Know when the pollen that triggers your symptoms is most prevalent and avoid the outdoors during those hours.

If there is no way around being out in it, make sure that you remove your clothes and shoes, and shower before going about your daily routine at home.

Minimize the exchange of indoor air with outdoor air. Keep windows and doors closed as much as possible in both your home and your car.

Use air conditioning rather than fans. Fans will send any pollen that has settled out of the air airborne again making it available for you to inhale.

Even with these precautions it is almost impossible to keep all pollen outdoors. The best way to effectively eliminate the pollen that gets in on pets, packages, and through doors as you come and go is to filter the air.

An effective purifier for pollen should contain a series of filters designed to filter the biggest down to the smallest pollen and particulates from the air. A HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting filter is a must to insure effectiveness.

By definition this type of filter must be able to remove 99.97% of all particles down to .3 microns in size. Particles that small are invisible to the eye, but if you’re allergic you know that you don’t have to see them to know they’re there.

The good news is that this type of filtration will also take out other pollutants that are common allergens in addition to the pollen. These particles include household dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pet dander, bacteria and viruses.

PurerAir.com offers an air purifier for pollen that thousands have been using successfully for years. See it now at http://purerair.com/hay_fever_air_purifier.html

Pollen Air Purifier

Spring has sprung. And whether it’s just official and nothing is blooming yet, or whether it’s in full swing with pollen flying every where, an air purifier an excellent way to stay in control.

Removing pollen whether it’s from trees, grass, flowers means you will need a cleaner with a high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) filter. This kind of filter can remove airborne particulates that are as small as .3 microns in size. And the good news is that pollen can be easily trapped by this type of filtration.

The other feature that your cleaner will need to have is the ability to run 24 hours a day. Continuous filtration prevents large amounts of pollen from accumulating in your air. And this greatly reduces your chances of allergy and asthma, allergic rhinitis and resulting sinus flare ups.

The types and amount of pollen vary greatly from one region to another. But in many locations there is literally always something that is producing pollen. There is no way to keep pollen out of our indoor space. It can and does easily attach to your hair, pet, book bag, and packages. And many times it just blows in with the wind as you come and go doing daily activities.

PurerAir.com offers a pollen air purifier that can work all year long for any type of airborne pollen that may find its way into your space. See it now at http://purerair.com/hay_fever_air_purifier.html

Summertime and the Grass Pollen is Airborne

It’s summertime, and the living is supposed to be easy. But if you’re allergic to grass pollen, summer can be a trying time.

Grass is one of the most popular ground covers, and the pollen can travel for miles on a gentle breeze making it very nearly impossible to avoid.

Here are 3 tips to help you navigate successfully through summer while still having a great time.

1. Keep your immune system working at its best by getting adequate sleep, eating a balanced diet, and exercising regularly. Not only will this plan of action keep your body healthy and more able to fight off infections, but will help you have a more positive outlook and keep cool when life’s daily stresses nip at your heels.

2. If your allergies are severe, consult an allergist and get help with a management plan that can help you navigate through the season without major disruptions in work and vacation time.

3. Use a HEPA air purifier in your home that can filter airborne pollen as small as .3 microns. This makes your home a haven, and allows your body, mind, and spirit time to rejuvenate. HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting technology is the same technology the medical community uses in hospitals to provide clean air.

Purerair.com offers the Hay Fever Air Purifier which is a HEPA air purifier designed to remove not only grass pollen, but numerous other kinds of pollen that make their appearances all during the year.

Economical to run, easy to maintain with a filter life of 5 years—you’ll want to see it now at http://purerair.com/hay_fever_air_purifier.html

Pollen at the Party

A customer wrote the following account after attending a birthday party with her daughter.

I’m writing to let you know how pleased I continue to be with the Hay Fever Air Purifier we bought last year.

My daughter was invited to a birthday party in the park yesterday, and it was perfect temperature—not too hot or cold with a wonderful breeze. The only problem was the breeze was full of pollen, so much so that the air looked dusty.

I started to sneeze, and my daughter had a runny nose, but she managed to enjoy herself thoroughly. We were outside for 4 hours! I gave her a relaxing bath to help with congestion, and to get what must have been millions of pollen spores out of hair. She went to bed happy in her room (where the purifier runs continuously), had a great night, and woke up refreshed and ready to go again.

My husband is also allergic to pollen and he always dreaded springtime, but the one in our little girl's room made such a difference that we have the same purifier in our bedroom now too, and he hardly notices when spring arrives anymore!

I don't even want to think about allergy season without the Hay Fever Air Purifier, and thanks to you, we don't have to! Thanks Purer Air! Susan……Virginia

We at PurerAir.com thank you for taking the time to write us, Susan! If there are others of you who have a story to tell, contact us at customerservice@PurerAir.com, and we’ll publish your thoughts as well!

Designed to run 24 hours a day every day for about the same cost as a 60 watt light bulb, the Allergy Machine prevents a build up of irritants that could trigger a reaction, making your home a haven that you can count to relax in both physically and emotionally.

Using an air purifier for allergy is good for the allergy sufferer, but is also good for everyone else in the family, and can do nothing but help to prevent both acute and long-term upper respiratory conditions.

The Allergy Machine Air Purifier is a high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) air purifier that is non-invasive, causes no side effects, and does not need to be remembered to be taken daily. The only side effect of the Allergy Machine is fresh clean air, as it produces zero ozone.

High efficiency particle arresting technology is the same technology used by the medical community, and if they use it, it will surely be effective in helping you manage your allergy in your home and office. Your allergist will recommend it.
