Golden Retriever Dander

Golden retrievers like all warm blooded animals have dander.

These small dead flakes of skin are nature’s way of making room for newer healthier skin that is more able to fight off disease and infection.

Dander production will continue as long as you have your dog, so learning to deal with it effectively will make your lives together more enjoyable. Dander is invisible, but if you are allergic to it you don’t ever need to see it to know it’s there.

The protein in these flakes is the offending element and can cause those who are sensitive to it to experience symptoms that range from irritating to debilitating, and in worse cases, life threatening.

A regular routine of bathing, proper diet, and regular grooming of your Golden can reduce the amount that is available to be inhaled or ingested by you and your family. But one of the best and most effective ways to get rid of it is by filtering the air with a high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) filter.

In addition to dander, Goldens are famous for the hair that they shed as well, and filtering the air will take the hair out of the air.

They are wonderful, intelligent, and beautiful dogs that are worth their weight in gold! Have you guessed what kind of dog I own? Ok, back to business!

Fall Midwest Allergy Relief

If it’s fall, you suffer from airborne allergies, and you live in the Midwestern United States chances are your body is reacting to weed pollen. And Ragweed is one of the most potent pollens known.

Unless you lock yourself in a glass bubble until after the first frost, it is next to impossible to avoid coming in contact with this allergen. However, you can control how much of it is in your indoor air.

Pollen is lightweight and can and does cling to hair, packages, pets that go in and out from your home, book bags, and grocery bags.

That leaves it free to go airborne in your home again and again with normal movements. This means your home is almost as irritating as the outdoors.

Even after all the research about allergies, most professionals agree that the best way to minimize allergies is to avoid the trigger. Filtering the indoor air continuously is a proactive yet non-invasive and effective way to keep pollen levels low indoors.

The best type of filter for removing airborne particles is the HEPA filter. This type of filter can remove 99,997 out of every 10,000 airborne particles as small as .3 microns from the air. And most pollens are quite a bit larger that even 1 micron.

PurerAir.com offers a HEPA allergy air purifier that is designed to remove weed pollen in the fall as well as tree pollen in the spring and grass pollens in the summer.

In addition to pollen this air cleaner can also remove other airborne irritants that can work in conjunction with seasonal pollens. These include but are not limited to dust, dust mites mold and mildew spores, pet dander, mold, and mildew spores.

HEPA Filters And Allergies

In the air purification industry the term HEPA is used a lot. It is an abbreviation made by using the first letters of the words high efficiency particle arresting.

This type of filter is designed to remove airborne particles, and as its name suggests it is incredibly effective at eliminating them.

To be more specific, it must be able to remove 99,997 out of every 10,000 particles that can be as small as .3 microns with a micron being defined as one millionth of a meter.

This is why it is such an effective solution for those with airborne allergies because many of the triggers that cause life-interrupting symptoms are particles.

Irritants such as household dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, bacteria, viruses, and seasonal pollens are some of the most potent allergens known, and this type of filtration can remove them.

PurerAir.com offers an allergy air purifier with a high efficiency particle arresting filter, 2 pre-filters (for large and medium size particles), and carbon cloth. Having the carbon cloth as the 4th filter in this purifier gives a dual benefit.

Not only will carbon cloth remove gaseous pollutants that can also trigger allergies such as smoke, and airborne chemicals; it is also able to remove additional particulates because of its woven structure.

Cat Odor and HEPA Filters

HEPA is an abbreviation created by using the first letters of the words high efficiency particle arresting.

As its name indicates it is incredibly effective at removing particles. It does not remove odor.

But by definition it can remove particles that are as small as .3 microns in size with a micron is defined as one millionth of a meter.

That makes it an excellent filter to have to remove cat hair, dander and more usual types of particles found in homes such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, and seasonal pollen.

To remove odor you need a carbon-based filter. And if the cat odor you are wrestling with is urine, the carbon needs to be enhanced with an additive that is specifically designed to remove the principal element in urine---ammonia.

But since cat-related pollutants come in both gaseous and particulate form, the best type of air cleaner for a cat is one that contains filters for each type of pollutant.

PurerAir.com offers an air purifier that contains 3 filters for particles including a HEPA and a carbon-based filter enhanced with ammonasorb for urine odor.

Bird Dust Case Study

Jackie called about the dust that her 30 year old Moluccan Cockatoo creates. She reports that when he flies about you can literally see a cloud of dust in the air.

In the rain forest he would get a bath everyday, but she said her schedule does not allow her to do that.

Of course she loves her bird and wants to clean up the air for his sake and her family. She says she had an ozone-producing air purifier, but she heard that they were not safe, and they didn’t really do the job. So she was looking for an effective cleaner.

Cockatoos, Cockatiels, and African Grey Parrots are powder down birds, which mean they produce wing dust above and beyond what is usual for other birds. Breathing air that is thick with these particles day in and day out can cause repiratory problems for birds and humans.

An air cleaner that only produces fresh air is the best solution. And it should have numerous filters that are designed to remove particles that range from visible to microscopic.

Having a range of filters means that not only is the dust removed while it is airborne, but invisible particles such as bird dander, dust mites, and other more normal household pollutants such as mold and mildew spores.

Being able to run the cleaner continuously insures that the amount of particles in the air stays low. This benefits you and your bird by making the air purer, and makes clean up less of a chore.

Nothing will remove all of the dust, but the Bird Dust Air Purifier comes pretty close. See it now at http://purerair.com/bird_dust_air_purifier.html

Nail Salon Fumes Escaping

Peter called us yesterday from his kitchen and bath store in New Mexico.

His store is located next to a nail salon, and the fumes are making him miserable and making his shop smell bad to his customers.

Can you imagine what it must smell like in the nail salon?

Think of all the chemicals that are being inhaled by both customers and staff every day.

And there are enough to pore out of the salon and into neighboring businesses. This is a tragic situation to have happening in all too many nail salons around the country.

Peter ordered the Nail Salon Air Purifier. He said planned to invite them over to smell the fresh air in his store, and convince them to get one of for their salon as well.

Fortunately, more and more nail salons are becoming aware of how harmful the volatile organic chemicals can be to their health. PurerAir.com continues to send this carbon-based air purifier to salons around the country in hopes that one day every salon will be able to offer their clients healthy air in addition to beautiful nails.

If you are breathing harsh chemicals from a nail salon for any reason let the Nail Salon Air Purifier send 250 cubic feet of fresh clean air into your space every 60 seconds.

See the cleaner that can make it happen now at http://purerair.com/nails.html
