Household Allergy Machines

The air in the average household is 20 times more polluted than the outdoor air. This occurs largely because as technology allows us to insulate our home more efficiently, there is less of an opportunity for air exchange. As a result this traps normal indoor pollutants such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pet dander, bacteria and viruses.

Our ability to insulate so thoroughly from the outdoors is a double-edged sword. It allows us to control our environment to a point, but also causes the level of indoor pollutants to continue to increase. Heating and air conditioning filters are often not effective enough to keep particulate levels low enough to keep air quality high.

The increased number of particulates often exacerbates allergy symptoms and can even cause the onset of allergies and asthma. And for those who already suffer from acute or chronic respiratory problems, the polluted air can cause symptoms that range from irritating to debilitating.

And even if opening the doors and windows were a possibility, you would simply be exchanging air and not necessarily reducing pollutants. For example, during pollen season in your town, opening the doors and windows would add tons of allergy triggers to your indoor air rather than reduce them.

The most efficient and effective way to minimize indoor allergy triggers is to filter the air with a HEPA (or high efficiency particle arresting) filter. Designed to remove 99,997 out of every 10,000 particles as small as .3 microns, this technology has been proven to be best solution for those with allergies.

PurerAir.com offers a 4-stage HEPA allergy air purifier that has helped thousands of allergy sufferers make their homes havens from airborne allergy triggers. Our purifier also contains carbon cloth that gives an extra level of protection against particulates.

Cat Odor Air Purifier

Cat urine odor is one of the strongest smells known to man. Not only is it hard to get rid of in your home, but unless you know where to look, the offending spot is often hard to find.

Using a black light can sometimes help you see where the mistake was made, but even with careful cleaning the smell is hard to get rid of completely. And if your cat is a repeat offender, the ongoing frustration of constant odor can be frustrating and embarrassing.

As a cat lover, you undoubtedly are able to tolerate a lot because of the love and affection your pet gives to you in return. You probably assume that some odor, hair and dander are a fair trade for living with your cat. However, friends and family are often not as forgiving, and this can put a damper on how much and how well you entertain in your own home.

You no longer have to choose between your cat and a fresh smelling home. Keeping the air free of urine odor with an air purifier specifically designed to remove the smell is a continuous, low maintenance, and effective solution to the problem.

PurerAir.com continues to supply Sandra’s Second Chance Cat Sanctuary with this purifier, and we figure that’s the acid test for whether it can really eliminate cat urine odor. If it works with numerous cats housed in a shelter, it will surely work for you in your home.

Eliminate Your Bird’s Dust

Birds generate fine particles or dust for a number of reasons. Dead skin flakes or dander and small pieces of feathers both result in increased dust in your home. There are some birds who in addition to dander and feathers generate a white wing dust that can literally cover the surfaces where your bird spends most of its time.

Dust from your bird is a natural part of its growth and development and will continue for as long as you have your bird. Because our homes are so well insulated, it is next to impossible for this dust to dissipate on its own.

The only way to effectively remove the tremendous number of extra particles that your feathered friend generates is to clean the air with a filter that is efficient at removing particles. This type of filtration is known as high efficiency particle arresting or HEPA.

Designed to remove particles as small as .3 microns, this type of filter can virtually eliminate both particles that your bird produces as well as more normal household particles like dust, dust mites, pollen, mold and mildew spores, and dander from other pets.

It’s important to remove this dust not only for your bird, but for the people in your home as well. The tremendous amount of particles can clog your bird’s air passages and cause illness and disease. And they can exacerbate allergy and asthma symptoms and cause the onset of respiratory issues for those who were formerly healthy.

Get rid of the dust in your air for good with the Bird Dust Air Purifier offered by PurerAir.com at http://purerair.com/bird_dust_air_purifier.html

Managing Airborne Pet Allergies

If you’re a pet lover and you’ve discovered you are allergic, it can feel like a double whammy! Having a pet as a part of the family brings a lot of joy, but realizing that the protein in its dander is the cause of sneezing, coughing, watering eyes, and congestion can literally make you feel bad.

All warm-blooded animals produce dander. And those dead flakes of skin contain a protein that is a powerful irritant for those who suffer with allergies and asthma. Because the dander is so light, it can and does go airborne, making itself available to be inhaled continuously.

Even for those who have not shown previous sensitivity to it, prolonged exposure to high levels of dander can result in symptoms that make being around the pet uncomfortable. The only way to reduce the amount of dander and pet related allergens in the air is to continuously filter the air.

The best type of filter to eliminate particles is a HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting filter.

Designed to remove 99,997 out of every 10,000 particles down to .3 microns in size, it is the most effective type of filter for pet allergies.

Not only will this type of filtration remove pet-related particles but other well known allergy triggers such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, and seasonal pollens.

PurerAir.com offers such an air purifier specifically designed for allergies. See it now at http://purerair.com/allergy_machine.html

Got Airborne Parrot Feathers?

If you own one of the many kinds of beautiful parrots you surely enjoy many happy hours watching and interacting with your bird.

What you probably enjoy least is having pieces or feathers rain down on you and your bird. Not only is it unsightly, but regular inhalation of these particles can cause serious health problems for you and your bird.

Let’s talk about your bird first. Because their air passages are so small, it doesn’t take very much to cause a blockage. This restriction can trigger the onset of disease and infection which can greatly reduce their life span. And all too often, you’re not even aware that your bird is ill until it’s too late to reverse the condition.

As for you and the other people who share your home, the news is not much better. Routine inhalation of particles such as feathers, bird dust, and dander can all cause allergic reactions for people who formerly had no sensitivity. For people who are already allergic this can worsen conditions to the point that they are no longer able to tolerate a bird in the home.

The best defense is a good offense. And in this case that means taking the bird-related as well as normal household particles out of the air before they can reach disastrous proportions. The best type of filtration for reducing particulates is HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting filtration. This type of filter is able to remove particles as small as .3 microns with 99.97% efficiency.

And because this type of filter doesn’t care what the source of particles is, it will also remove usual household irritants such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, and pollen, dander from other pets, and airborne bacteria and viruses.

Dog Dander Air Purifier

Dog dander is an invisible but powerful irritant for those who are allergic. These tiny flakes of dead skin can stay airborne long enough to be inhaled.

And because dander is a natural part of your dog’s growth and development, it will be around for as long as you have your pooch.

It is usually the protein that dander contains that causes those who are allergic to sneeze, cough, wheeze and get teary-eyed. And because it often sticks to hair, dust, and other airborne particles, it is tough to eliminate.

In fact the only way to reliably and consistently keep the particle count low is to filter the air with a HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting filter. This type of filtration is designed to remove airborne particles as small as .3 microns with 99.97% efficiency.

This type of filtration will also remove more normal household particulates such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pollen, and bacteria and viruses.

You can enjoy a lot of wonderful years with your dog without suffering from allergies triggered by dander. See the air purifier for dog dander that can make a huge difference in the air quality for both you and your dog at http://purerair.com/dog_dander_air_purifier.html

Improving Beauty Salon Air

Being in a beauty salon whether you are owner, stylist or client can mean being exposed to air that is less than healthy.

Many of the products used for hair and nails contain volatile organic chemicals that evaporate into the air.

At best these fumes are unpleasant to breathe, and at worse they can cause dizziness, dry throat, burning eyes and nausea.

Many think that opening doors and windows, or blowing air around with a fan can improve the situation.

Unfortunately, the only way to reliably remove the airborne chemicals is to scrub the air with a filter that is specifically designed to eliminate them.

Carbon filters are well known for their ability to absorb gaseous pollutants, and with additional potassium iodide added to the carbon base, its ability to remove chemical fumes is second to none.

In addition to the carbon filter, a salon cleaner would be even more efficient if it could also remove airborne particulates such as hair, nail dust, and more usual pollutants such as dust, mold and mildew spores, pollen that blows in from outside, as well as bacteria and viruses.

PurerAir.com offers an air cleaner with a HEPA (or high efficiency particle arresting) filter that removes particles as small as .3 microns. It also has 2 pre-filters that remove large and medium size particles as well.

We continue to supply salons across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico including

Pet Smell Air Purifier

Pets bring so much joy to a home and the lives of the people who live there. But many times they also bring a variety of smells.

For those of us who are pet lovers, we are able to tolerate a lot because of the love we receive in return. Family, friends, and co-workers are often less forgiving.

So if you are greeted by pet smell of any kind each day when you return home, filtering the air is the best way to get rid of the smell and clear the air in your home. If you are having problems with urine smell, a carbon-based filter with an additive especially designed to eliminate urine smell is a must.

PurerAir.com offers a carbon-based filter that has been used by cat sanctuaries, dog grooming and day care facilities, as well as ferret rescue shelters. These situations are acid tests for a purifier’s effectiveness and our air purifier continues to pass the test with flying colors.

Not only should a pet air purifier be able to deal with smells, but it should be able to eliminate dander, hair and other particulates that pets generate. For particle removal, our purifier contains a HEPA (or high efficiency particle arresting) filter that, by definition, must remove airborne particulates as small as .3 microns.

Eliminating Bird Dander and Dust

By definition, dander is dead skin that flakes off your bird’s skin as newer healthier skin replaces it.

These flakes are virtually invisible to the human eye, but if you are sensitive to the protein contained in these flakes, it can send your allergies into overdrive fast.

Bird dust results from preening, and or disintegrated feathers that go airborne with movement from moving air caused by you or your bird.

Some birds, called powder down birds, produce more than their share of wing dust as a natural part of their growth and development. These birds include Cockatoos, African Greys, Cockatiels and some Amazons.

But the bottom line about both bird dust and dander is that they create an unusually high number of particulates in the air. This is not good for people and is worse for birds.

Because birds’ air passages are so small, it doesn’t take much to clog them. Once they become restricted, this often leads to disease and infection and many times causes an early death.

Continually filtering the air is the only way to take out the huge number of particulates and protect the health of both you and your bird.

PurerAir.com offers an air purifier designed to remove bird dander and dust, as well as the normal household pollutants found in most homes. See it now at http://purerair.com/bird_dust_air_purifier.html

Replacing Austin Air Filters---3 Easy Steps

Austin Air Purifiers are so low maintenance that you don’t need to change the filters for 5 years or longer. So it’s easy to forget how to do it. The good news is that in 3 easy steps you can get the old filter out, the new filter in, and be set for another 5 years. Here’s how.

1. Unplug the unit and turn it up side down. Unscrew the 4 screws that hold the bottom plate in place. Remove the bottom plate.

2. Pull out the canister that contains the 4 filters. The pre-filter may stay in when you do this. But it’s easy to just pull this cotton like filter out after the canister has been removed.

3. Put in the new canister which contains all 4 (or 5 if you are putting in the Bedroom Machine Replacement). Replace the 4 screws that secure the bottom plate to the unit. Turn the unit upright, and run on high for one hour. Cut it back to the speed that has been working best for you, and your Austin Air Purifier will work 24/7 for another 5 years.

For more replacement filter tips visit PurerAir.com now at http://purerair.com/austin_air_replacement_filter_tips.html or call our 24 hour line now at (800) 997-2989.

Safe Bird Air Purifier

Sharing your home with a bird can be so rewarding. Pet birds are beautiful, loyal, and many are even able to talk. But living with a bird also means having many more particles in the air.

Feathers, dander, and dust all add to the normal household pollutants that are found in the cleanest of homes such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, and dander from other pets.

Breathing an increased number of particles means your lungs are being used as a filter much more than they normally would be. And these additional particles also have the potential to take years off the life of your bird.

Because birds have such small air passages, it doesn’t take much to clog them. In the wild the particles would dissipate into the air, or the birds would fly away. In your home neither of those things is possible unless you take proactive steps to clear the air.

The only way to keep the air virtually particle free is to filter the air 24 hours a day with an air purifier that is safe for both people and birds. The best and safest technology is called HEPA (or high efficiency particle arresting).

To be designated as such this type of filter must be able to remove 99.97% of airborne particles that are .3 microns or greater. The only by-product of this type of filtration is fresh, clean air. In fact, this is the same type of filtration used in hospitals to insure clean air.

PurerAir.com offers a portable HEPA air purifier that can eliminate airborne dust, feathers, and dander all day every day for you and your bird.

Holiday Allergy Management Tips

The holidays are here and so the whirlwind of parties has begun. But if you suffer from allergies, excitement can quickly turn to anxiety because of lack of control over your environment even when you’re giving the party.

Here are 5 tips for managing your allergies when it’s your turn to host the office party at your home.

1. Ask your guests to refrain from smoking indoors.

2. If perfumes and colognes bother you, ask guest to make it a fragrance-free event by forgoing the use of fragrance.

3. Consider taking a mild antihistamine an hour or so before the function. Try it a day or so before the party so that you can be sure it won’t make you too drowsy to enjoy yourself.

4. Have an inhaler, epipen or other emergency treatment handy to use if necessary.

5. Filter the air with a high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) purifier throughout the party to remove airborne triggers that could provoke flare-ups.

PurerAir.com offers a high efficiency particle arresting air purifier especially designed to remove airborne allergy triggers not only during the holidays but every day of the year. See it now at http://purerair.com/allergy_machine.html

Christmas Decorations and Allergies

If you’re starting to get Christmas decorations down from the attic or out of the closet, there’s probably more coming from the attic and the closet than the decorations.

After a whole year of being tucked away, your pretty things have had plenty of time to collect dust, pollen, spores, dead insect parts and more.

Once these triggers go airborne when you move them, they are free to go up your nose, into your eyes, and onto your hands. If you’re not careful, getting rid of these allergens can become a vicious cycle.

You can brainstorm about how you can store things differently next year---zipped bags and plastic containers—but that doesn’t help with all that’s in your air right now. And the fact that these irritants are likely to stay in your air until the decorations are put away can make you feel bad continually. And the holidays are not time to be sick.

If you suffer with allergies, keeping the air clear of allergens that the Christmas decorations can drag in is the best way to avoid flare-ups during the holidays. Using a medical grade HEPA (high efficiency particle arresting) air purifier can take out dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pollen and other particles that have accumulated throughout the year.

PurerAir.com offers a medical grade air purifier that can take out allergens not just during the holidays but all during the year. See it for yourself now at http://purerair.com/allergy_machine.html
