Eliminating Bird Dander and Dust

By definition, dander is dead skin that flakes off your bird’s skin as newer healthier skin replaces it.

These flakes are virtually invisible to the human eye, but if you are sensitive to the protein contained in these flakes, it can send your allergies into overdrive fast.

Bird dust results from preening, and or disintegrated feathers that go airborne with movement from moving air caused by you or your bird.

Some birds, called powder down birds, produce more than their share of wing dust as a natural part of their growth and development. These birds include Cockatoos, African Greys, Cockatiels and some Amazons.

But the bottom line about both bird dust and dander is that they create an unusually high number of particulates in the air. This is not good for people and is worse for birds.

Because birds’ air passages are so small, it doesn’t take much to clog them. Once they become restricted, this often leads to disease and infection and many times causes an early death.

Continually filtering the air is the only way to take out the huge number of particulates and protect the health of both you and your bird.

PurerAir.com offers an air purifier designed to remove bird dander and dust, as well as the normal household pollutants found in most homes. See it now at http://purerair.com/bird_dust_air_purifier.html
