Dog Allergies

Are you a pet owner who thinks that you may be allergic to your dog?  If you are, you may be looking for guidance.  After all, there is nothing worse than realizing that you are allergic to your beloved pet or pets.

One of the first things that you will want to do is make sure that you do have a pet allergy.  Sometimes, the symptoms of having a pet allergy can be caused by other allergies or by another medical illness, such as the flu or the common cold.

Those who suffer from pet allergies may experience a runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, postnasal drip, develop a skin rash, or have difficultly breathing.

If you experience severe allergy symptoms or if you would like conformation that you do have a pet allergy, schedule a visit with a healthcare professional.

As for how you can go about treating your pet allergies that are due to your dog, you can remove the dog from your home.  If you are unable to do so or if you choose not to, you will want to see if you can find it a good home.  Friends or family members who are willing to take your pet are often considered the best option.  Even if you want to keep your dog with you, there are still a number of steps that you can take to seek relief from some common dog allergy symptoms.

The best way to limit your allergy symptoms that can be attributed to your dog is to keep your dog or dogs out of your bedroom.  The bedroom is the room where we spend most of our time.  For that reason, your dog or dogs should be kept out of your bedroom.

Doing so, may limit the number of irritating symptoms you display.  It may also help to get you a good night of sleep.  In addition to the bedroom, it is also important to examine other rooms that you may spend a good portion of your time.  Consider keeping your dog or dogs out of that room as well.

Another great tip involves not letting your dog or dogs climb on your furniture.  This is particularly important if you like to lie down on your couch or rest in a reclining chair.  You do not want to have pet dander and hair in your face.  If you must, covers can be used.

There are a number of cloth style covers that can be used.  They are a great alternative to the unattractive plastic covers.  With that in mind, should you use cloth covers, be sure to wash them every few days or when too much pet hair accumulates.

Investing in an air purifier is another way that you can seek relief from a dog allergy, without having to find a new home for your beloved pet.  Air purifiers work by eliminating air particles, including pet dander.

It is best if you search online for air purifiers that are designed to help those with allergies.  These air purifiers can easily be found with a standard internet search.  Also, HEPA air filters and HEPA air purifiers are known for their amazing results.

Vacuuming as much as possible is another way to manage the symptoms that you may be experiencing due to having a dog allergy.  In addition to vacuuming often, be sure to take a good, close look at the vacuum cleaner you are using.

There are now vacuum cleaners that use HEPA filters and they come highly rated and recommended.  In fact, there are even some vacuum cleaners that are targeted towards and marketed towards pet owners.  You should examine these vacuum cleaners.

The above mentioned steps are a few of the many steps that you can take to seek relief from allergies that you may be suffering due to close contact with your dog.  As reminder, a doctor may be able to prescribe you prescription medication or recommend over-the-counter products that may work just as well.  With that said, remember that treating allergies, especially pets allergies, naturally is usually much safer.

Pet Hair Air Purifier

Pet hair can become a huge issue if you live with a warm-blooded animal such as a dog, cat, bunny, or ferret.

The very feature that makes them so cuddly and adorable can become a real problem unless you take steps to keep it under control.

Baths to remove excess hair, brushing, proper diet, and adhesive rollers are all great ways to minimize the amount you will deal with.

But ultimately, the most efficient and consistent way to cut down on hair in the air is to use a filter that can effectively remove it.

Big pieces are easily removed by pre-filters that are relatively inexpensive.  They are made of a cotton ball-like fabric and should be placed as the first filters inside a unit.

And if you’re trying to remove particles of any kind, the unit must have a high efficiency particle arresting filter that can trap particles as small as .3 microns.

This is important because in addition to hair, warm-blooded pets shed dander constantly.  As annoying and unsightly as the hair can be, it is pet dander that is the allergen that often triggers allergy and asthma symptoms.

This type of filter doesn’t discriminate against other allergens and will remove things like dust, dust mites, and mold and mildew spores.

You can have the best combination of filters in the world, but if the cleaner can’t run 24 hours a day every day you have very little chance of really making the air better.

PurerAir.com offers a cleaner that has 2 pre-filters a HEPA filter as well as carbon cloth to give additional protection against particles and odor.

Get rid of the hair and other particles now with the Pet Dander Air Purifier from PurerAir.com at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html

Pet Dander Allergies--5 Ways To Minimize Symptoms

Even though pet dander is invisible, your body doesn't have to see it to know it's there.  The protein that it contains is one of the most potent allergens known and can  cause continuous symptoms.

The aggravating symptoms are usually triggered by warm-blooded pets such as dogs, cats, birds, ferrets and other cuddly fur balls. So if you know you have allergies fish make nice pets without the dander. But if you've already fallen in love with something other than fish, here are 5 ways to minimize the symptoms your pet causes.

Keep Cleaning---Pets give a lot of love, and in return those of us who love them unconditionally know that there will be more clean up involved.

You will know how often you need to clean based on how much dust your friend creates. Remember to avoid dry cleaning (dusting, sweeping) and opt for cleaning with water.

Pet bedding can also attract dust mites.  These don't care who the owner of the dander is. Wash any area rugs weekly. Use window coverings that can we washed or wiped down to keep particulates from accumulating.

Limit piles because they create extra surface area where dust can and will settle. Keep knick-knacks to a minimum for the same reason. Reducing these 2 things alone will cut down greatly on what you have to clean each week.

Keep The Numbers Low---Don't let a big heart get you in over your head.. So the temptation is to save every pooch with big eyes. Ultimately that is not the best thing for either of you.

Too many animals often equals too much dander as well. This will eventually make it hard for you to breathe, often forcing the owner to place pets in a new home or a shelter. And that's hard on everyone. You can't explain your decision to your pet. This is a case where more is not better.

Consider Baths---Always check with the veterinarian before implementing a bath regimen. However, this can often drastically reduce the amount of hair, dander, dust, and/or feathers that is available for your pet to send into the air.

Use Allergy-Friendly Furnishings---What's this you are probably wondering? It's using furniture and accessories that allow particles to fall to the floor. Smooth surfaces rather than woven are best.

Opt for furniture that is not upholstered (fabric).  Woven material hold particles and are difficult to clean thoroughly.  Normal use will send particles into the air, and fabrics generally cannot be cleaned easily or cheaply.

Flooring choices include area rugs, linoleum, tile, slate and other non-porous surfaces. Avoid wall-to-wall carpet because it is hard to clean thoroughly, and in between cleanings it allows a tremendous number of particulates and odors to accumulate.

The slightest amount of movement on the carpet will cause the particles to go airborne and available for you to inhale. This can become a vicious cycle which can cause allergy symptoms to be continuous.

Filter The Air----Regardless of how careful you are, and how many steps you take to minimize the allergens generated by pets and other normal indoor activities, you will still have more than you want in your air.

The most reliable way to eliminate them consistently and effectively is to use multiple-sized filters to eliminate them from the air. Pre-filters are effective yet inexpensive ways to remove visible particulates.

The high efficiency particle arresting or HEPA filter is an excellent fit for microscopic particles like dander, mold and mildew spores, and dust mites. Designed to eliminate 99,997 out of every 10,000 particles that are .3 microns or larger, it is the best filter for the job.

This is the type of filtration that hospitals use because it's only by-product is fresh air. Avoid those units that produce any amount of ozone or ionized particles. Experts can't seem to agree about if and how much is safe for living things.

Pets And Indoor Air

If you’ re like me, until you have opened your heart and your home to a pet, you just don’t get what all the fuss is about.

But if you love a warm-blooded pet (such as a dog, cat, bird, bunny, or ferret) you understand that there must be a workable solution that allows you to enjoy your pet without sacrificing healthy air quality.

All warm-blooded creatures shed dead skin cells to make way for newer healthier skin that is better able to protect its body from disease and infection.

This dander is a potent allergen that can exacerbate allergies, asthma and other respiratory conditions and can also cause the onset of asthma and allergies where none existed.

Keeping the air clear not only provides a healthy lifestyle for humans but for pets as well.  Birds, for instance, have incredibly small air passages and air that is thick with dander and other airborne particles can clog their air passages and shorten their life span.

The best way to clear the air continuously and reliably is to filter the air with a high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) filter.  This type of filter is designed to remove airborne particles that are .3 microns or larger with 99.97 efficiency.

The benefit of this type of filter is that it does not care about the source of the particles.  So even though you may be most concerned about the particles from your pet, there are other common indoor particulates that are also present and can cause problems.

These particles include common household dust, dust mites, seasonal pollen, mold and mildew spores, as well as airborne viruses and bacteria.  Being able to take out all of these pollutants is the best solution for pets and humans.

PurerAir.com offers the Pet Dander Air Purifier that can clean 1500 square feet 24 hours a day every day.  See it now at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html

Managing Pet Dander

On this Valentine’s Day it seems only fitting to talk about the big love that pets offer. Their shining eyes, wagging tails, flapping wings, squeals of delight upon seeing us takes coming home to a new level.

What is not so wonderful is the dander (small flakes of dead skin) that is continually shed from warm-blooded pets.  Dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, bunnies and other furry friends all shed the older skin as it is replaced by newer healthier skin that is more able to defend the body against disease and infection.
Dander is invisible to the human eye, but if you are allergic to it, you don’t have to see it to know it’s there.  It can cause watering eyes, sneezing, runny nose, congestion and coughing.
The protein in the dander is one of the most potent allergens known.  And unless you get rid of your pet (unthinkable!) this is an issue that will continue for as long as your friend lives with you.
Keeping pet bedding and toys clean, keeping them out of the bedroom, opting for surfaces and furnishings that can be clean easily and frequently are all effective ways of limiting dander.  And these are probably totally doable things when your pet is young.
But when you have a friend that has been with you through life for 10 years or more, you realize that every moment is a gift and the desire to share every moment becomes stronger.  So it may become harder and or even no longer desirable to restrict the places your pooch can go.
So, if you are to that point, or even if you’re not and air purifier that can continually remove the dander from the air is a solution that will help you be able to enjoy your pet everywhere you go in your home and still reduce the amount of dander.
PurerAir.com offers the Pet Dander Air Purifier for those who have fallen totally in love with their animals.  I am one of those.  My Golden Retriever is 11 and has been with me through thick and thin.
Let the Pet Dander Air Purifier send 250 cubic feet of fresh, clean air into your home every 60 seconds so that you can enjoy every minute with your pet.
Happy Valentine’s Day!

Best Pet Air Filters

If you’re looking for an air filter for a pet, chances are you have a warm-blooded love living in your home.

That would include dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, bunnies or some combination thereof.

Warm-blooded pets give off particles and odor.  Particles take to the air in the form of visible particulates such as hair and fur, and the invisible and more potent allergen—dander.
Any filter that has a chance of being effective needs a range of filters (rather than just one) each of which should be able to target and eliminate a certain size particulate.
Large and medium particle pre-filters should be available to target the visible, and the HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting filter should eliminate particles as small as .3 microns.
A filter for odor means carbon.  And the best pet air cleaner will have an additive that enhances the carbon’s ability to remove the ammonia that off-gasses from pet urine.
Even if you don’t have urine issues now, having this filter as a precaution is like money in the bank.
PurerAir.com offers an air cleaner with all of these filters, and the ability to send 250 cubic feet of clean air into your home every 60 seconds 24 hours a day every day.

Removing Airborne Pet Dander

One of the biggest advantages of a warm-blooded pet is that they are warm and fuzzy and lovely to snuggle with.

One of the big disadvantages of these warm, furry creatures is that they shed dander continually.

Cats, dogs, birds, bunnies, ferrets all shed these fine flakes of dead skin  as their bodies make way for newer healthier skin that is more effective at defending their bodies against disease and infection.
Many pet owners believe that you can see dander when in fact it is invisible to the human eye.  It is also sticky and can adhere to the pet’s hair or feathers.  It also sticks to larger and more usual airborne particles such as household dust.
The protein in the dander is a powerful allergen that can cause owners with existing respiratory problems such as allergies and asthma to become unable to tolerate their own pet.
The most effective way is to literally keep the dander count low and the air quality high is to clean the air with a high efficiency particle arresting or HEPA filter, and a unit that can clean 24 hours is essential.
The Pet Dander Air Purifier has not only a HEPA filter, but 3 other filters for particles as well as a split capacitor motor that allows it to run 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
See the air cleaner from PurerAir.com that can keep the dander down for good at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html

Pet Dander Allergies -- 3 Frequent Symptoms

If you are allergic to your pet, chances are it is a warm-blooded one such as a cat, dog, bird, ferret, or bunny.  These animals produce dead skin flakes that contain a protein that is one of the most potent allergens known.

This same protein is found in their saliva, and dried urine.  So this allergen can be hard to escape.
How do you know if you are allergic?  The body reacts by trying to flush out this allergen as it does when it perceives a substance to be harmful.

Sneezing is one of the first signs of problems.  Since the skin and other dried body fluids reduce to particles they are easily inhaled.  Once this happens the body tries to eject these particulates with forceful exhalation known as sneezing.
Coughing happens once the irritants have gotten down the throat and on towards the lungs.  Once again the body tries to get rid of these triggers by forcing air out of the lungs and airways.
Congestion is triggered when histamines are released in response to allergens.  They cause additional fluids to be produced in the nasal passages to try to wash out the irritants.

And even though the body means well, it can miserable to live through all of these changes.  A fasting acting medication such as an antihistamine can work once the symptoms start to appear.
One of the best ways to minimize the number of flare-ups and their intensity is to constantly remove the number of particulates in the air.  A high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) is the best type of filter for the job.  It can remove 99,997 out of every 10,000 particles that are .3 microns or larger.

PurerAir.com offers the Pet Dander Air Purifier as an ongoing solution to the problem.  See it now at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html

Filter For Pet Dander

Pet dander is one of the most potent allergens known.

And since all warm-blooded animals shed dander (dead flakes of skin), there is a tone of dander floating in the air if you own a bird, cat, dog, bunny, ferret or even a pot-bellied pig.

Dander, contrary to popular opinion, is microscopic in size and is therefore invisible to the human eye.  It is light-weight and can stay airborne for hours.

It’s also sticky and often attaches to larger airborne particles such as hair (human or pet). It will also attach to the clothes that you wear when you are around your pet, favorite furniture and bedding.

Air currents and normal daily activities constantly cause those flakes that have settled out of the air to become airborne again, and it becomes a vicious circle to control it.

The best filter for microscopic particle is a high efficiency particle arresting (abbreviated as HEPA) filter.  By definition this type of filter must be able to remove 99,997 out of every 10,000 particles that are .3 microns or bigger.

This type of filter is totally capable of removing the invisible dander from the air and making the air healthier for you and your pet.

PurerAir.com offers the Pet Dander Air Purifier that has 3 other filters for particles in addition to the HEPA.

Pet Dander And Allergies

Pet dander is the dead skin that flakes off continually to make room for newer, healthier skin. This is a natural process for every warm blooded animal, and helps their bodies be more able to ward off disease and infection.

Unfortunately, for many people who suffer with allergies and asthma, the protein in dander can cause horrific reactions. And whereas this is never good, it is even tougher to experience when the dander results from a dog, cat, bird, or bunny that you love.

The production of dander will last for as long as you have your pet. And even though bathing, proper diet, and good health will help minimize it, depending on your sensitivity to it, it doesn’t take much to trigger symptoms that range from irritating to debilitating.

The best way to reduce allergy symptoms is to minimize the allergen. And the best way to do that is to continually filter it from the air. 24 hour filtration with a high efficiency particle arresting filter is one of the most efficient, and non-invasive ways to deal with dander.

Because HEPA filtration will take out particles as small as .3 microns in size, it will also remove other allergens such as dust, dust mites, and pollen.

Control Dust From Pets

Those of us who are pet lovers believe that pets make a house a home.

They can also make a lot of extra dust to breathe which is not good for them or for humans.

Normal indoor air has dust issues of its own without pets.

Things like dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, bacteria and viruses can clump together and form dust bunnies and other unsightly layers on furniture and floors.

Add to this collection dust generated by pets---hair, dander, and fur being the big 3, and you’ve got an unhealthy number of particles in the air.

Filtering the air continually with filters that are sized to take out the dust that you can see, and the kind you can’t (pet dander, bacteria, viruses) is the best solution to the problem.

HEPA (high efficiency particle arresting) filtration along with several pre-filters for large and medium size particles can mount an offensive against both normal and pet-related dust that can make a noticeable difference.

Get rid of the dust in your home, regardless of whether it's from a dog, cat, bird, bunny, ferret, or other warm fuzzy with the Pet Dander Air Purifier from PurerAir.com at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html

Airborne Guinea Pig Hair

Guinea pigs are adorable. We had one growing up and her name was Cynthia. Their warm, cuddly, furry body made her so much fun to have around.

But if you allow your friend to wander around the house, hair can get all over everything, which isn’t necessarily bad (said the pet owner) unless you are allergic.

Hair in the air means dander in the air, and that is the stuff of which allergy and asthma flare-ups are made of. The protein in the dander is what sends most allergies into overdrive. Dander is sticky stuff so the most natural place for it to start is on your GP’s hair.

The best way to get it out of the air is to filter the air continually with a HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting air purifier. This type of filter is able to remove airborne particles as small as .3 microns in size.

So it will make short work of these and other more normal household particulates such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pollen, bacteria and viruses.

PurerAir.com offers the Pet Dander Air Purifier that not only contains a HEPA filter but carbon cloth for particles, odors, and gases, and several pre-filters designed to prolong the life of the HEPA filter.

Allergic To Your Rabbit?

If you’ve got a cute and cuddly rabbit for a pet, they’re a lot of fun.

But what is not fun is the sneezing, coughing, congestion, itchy and watery eyes that you get when you spend time with your pet.

Most likely this is because you are allergic to the protein in the dander.

All warm-blooded animals shed dead skin (dander) to make way for newer healthier skin that is better able to protect the body from disease and infection.

Unfortunately these skin cells contain a highly potent allergen that can make those who are sensitive to it feel miserable. And all your rabbit wants to do is cuddle.

It’s too late to take the rabbit back, so what can be done? You can filter the air to remove the airborne dander. This cuts down on the amount that you inhale, and the less you inhale the less symptoms it can generate.

The Pet Dander Air Purifier from PurerAir.com is designed to take out pet related allergens such as dander as well as the usual household pollutants that can also trigger allergies and asthma.

And even though your main concern right now is the rabbit dander, a cleaner that can remove household dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, bacteria and viruses can only help ease allergy and asthma symptoms.

Dog Hair and Dander

Anybody who loves a dog know that dogs mean dog hair and dander. And depending on which breed you have it can mean a lot of both.

Unless you get rid of your dog (Never!) you are going to have hair and dander, but it doesn’t have to run you out of house and home.

Using an air cleaner to take dog related particulates out of your air means there is less for you to breathe or ingest. And there is less of it for you see blowing around when the fans are on, and less for you dust and vacuum away.

A high efficiency or HEPA air purifier is perfect for this job. It high efficiency particle arresting ability means that it can take out 99,997 out of every 10,000 particles from your air that are .3 microns or larger. That means this kind of filtration can easily eliminate both hair and dander.

In addition to dog related pollutants, it can also remove normal household pollutants such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, dander from other pets, pollen, as well as viruses and bacteria that often attach to these particles to move from one place to another.

Combine HEPA filtration with a carbon based filter that can also remove odors, gases and chemicals and you’ve got the Pet Dander Air Purifier from PurerAir.com

Dog Dander Air Filter

Dog dander is microscopic in size but can be a powerful adversary if you are allergic to the protein that is part of its make up. And if you are reading this, you are probably searching for a solution that will allow you to love your dog and get rid of the dander.

The dander problem goes hand in paw with having a dog, and unless you actively filter it from the air, problems will continue. In order to effectively remove it from the air, you will need a filter that can eliminate microscopic particles from the air.

A high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) air purifier is made for the job. By definition it must remove airborne particles down to .3 microns with 99.97% accuracy. That means that for every 10,000 particles in the air, a HEPA cleaner will remove 99,997! Your dog's dander can be easily and continually removed by this type of filtration.

But it won’t just stop by removing dander. It will remove all airborne particles such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pollen and other notorious airborne particulates that trigger allergy and asthma flare-ups.

With this air purifier you can keep your dog and lose the dander. So if you can stand to have 250 cubic feet of fresh, dander-free air infused into your home every 60 seconds, see the Pet Dander Air Purifier now at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html

Removing Pet Dander Effectively

How to effectively remove pet dander is one of the most frequently asked questions on the internet today, and there’s no wonder why.

In the United States alone, 5 million homes have birds, 38 million have cats, 45 million have dogs, and 5 million own other small animals such as ferrets, bunnies, guinea pigs, mice, and hamsters. That’s a lot of love and a lot of pet dander.

If you are trying to remove dander from a space where you suspect previous owners had pets, thoroughly wipe down all surfaces with a disinfectant, have carpets professionally cleaned, and wash or dry clean any window treatments that you have inherited.

If you currently live with a pet, dander will be a factor for you and your family as long as your pet is in your home. Dander is a very natural by product of growth and development. So what do you do to get rid of the dander if you’re allergic, or just want a cleaner home?

You need an air purifier to constantly remove dander from the air. And since dander is invisible to the human eye, the air cleaner has to be able to remove sub micron size particles efficiently, and it would be an additional perk if the purifier would also remove odor.

PurerAir.com offers a high efficiency particle arresting (abbreviated as HEPA) air purifier that will remove pet dander, hair, fur, and odor 24 hours a day every day; and this purifier is effective at removing the airborne dander from all warm blooded animals.

With the Pet Machine Air Purifier you can have your pet and keep a clean, fresh smelling house too. We also supply these units to kennels and animal shelters. That's really the acid test for whether it will be effective in your home.

Pet Dander in Your Home

If your pet has the freedom to explore your home, and it is a warm-blooded pet such as a cat, dog, ferret, bunny, or bird, you have pet dander. And you, more than likely, have pet dander all over your home.

Pet dander is flakes of dead skin that are constantly being shed as they are replaced by newer skin that is more able to help the immune system fight off infection and disease.

And although your pet’s hair and fur are very visible, pet dander is too small to be seen by the human eye. However, the protein in the dander is one of the most potent allergens for those who suffer with allergies and asthma.

Dander can be sent airborne by your pet as it goes about its normal routine, or you can stir it up as you walk, dust, or even make the bed.

Without some serious attention to dander, it becomes a catch 22 situation in which the dander never really gets taken out of the air; it simply gets circulated again and again.

How do you take pet dander out of the air in your home? This can be effectively accomplished by using high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) filtration. Designed to remove both visible and invisible particles down to .3 microns with 99.97% efficiency, HEPA filtration is the same technology the medical community uses in hospitals to insure clean air.

The added bonus with this type of filtration is that it will also remove other common household pollutants such as dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pollen, and bacteria and viruses.

Put this pet dander air purifier to work in your home today. See it now at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html
