Pet Dander Allergies -- 3 Frequent Symptoms

If you are allergic to your pet, chances are it is a warm-blooded one such as a cat, dog, bird, ferret, or bunny.  These animals produce dead skin flakes that contain a protein that is one of the most potent allergens known.

This same protein is found in their saliva, and dried urine.  So this allergen can be hard to escape.
How do you know if you are allergic?  The body reacts by trying to flush out this allergen as it does when it perceives a substance to be harmful.

Sneezing is one of the first signs of problems.  Since the skin and other dried body fluids reduce to particles they are easily inhaled.  Once this happens the body tries to eject these particulates with forceful exhalation known as sneezing.
Coughing happens once the irritants have gotten down the throat and on towards the lungs.  Once again the body tries to get rid of these triggers by forcing air out of the lungs and airways.
Congestion is triggered when histamines are released in response to allergens.  They cause additional fluids to be produced in the nasal passages to try to wash out the irritants.

And even though the body means well, it can miserable to live through all of these changes.  A fasting acting medication such as an antihistamine can work once the symptoms start to appear.
One of the best ways to minimize the number of flare-ups and their intensity is to constantly remove the number of particulates in the air.  A high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) is the best type of filter for the job.  It can remove 99,997 out of every 10,000 particles that are .3 microns or larger.
