Keeping Dust From Birds
If you are worried about how dust affects your pet bird, you’re a good owner.
And you are right to want to keep the amount of dust they breathe to a minimum.
Their air passages are so
small that they can easily become clogged.
A bird in captivity is depending on its owner to keep the air clean all
the time to prevent particles from becoming lodged in their airways making
conditions ripe for disease and infection.
Filtering the air with a high
efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) air purifier is the most effective and
reliable way to insure that particulates remain consistently low.
And whereas bird-related particles
are probably at the top of your list, there are also other normal household
pollutants that they are exposed to as well.
Things such as dust, dust mites, seasonal pollen, and dander from other
pets can also cause problems.
The HEPA filter does not care
where or how the irritants get in the air, it is designed to take out all
particles that are .3 microns or greater in size with a micron being defined as
one millionth of a meter.
Exposing your birds to less
dust exposes their owners to less which makes everyone healthier.
