Pets and Indoor Smoke

Studies continue to show how damaging smoke is for humans to breathe, and it also extremely damaging and in many cases fatal for pets to breathe as well.

Since smoke is made up of not only gases, but millions of fine particulates; once those particles fall to the ground, your cat, dog, ferret, bunny and any other pet that spends a lot of time lying on your floor, chair, or bed is up close and personal with these particulates that have finally fallen out of the air. And obviously, breathing these pollutants hour after hour, day after day is bad news. And worse still, unless they are allowed outside, there is no escape.

Birds are also extremely susceptible to odors, gases, and particulates. Birds’ respiratory systems are far more sensitive than humans, and when they breathe in these gases and particulates, they are carried very efficiently into the lungs, which can often prove fatal.

Clogging their air passages with anything include particulates from smoke or even household dust, bird dander, or bird dust increases their chances of disease and infection and shortens their life span considerably.

Our pets depend on us to provide the very best in food, air quality, and quality of life. Using a high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) air purifier can make a real difference in how long and how well your pet lives.

Filtering the air in your home 24 hours a day removes the particulates and gases that result because of smoke, and make their home a safer place to be.

We offer a Bird Dander Air Purifier that is designed to remove particulates down to .3 microns, but if smoke is your main concern, we recommend the Smoke Air Purifier which contains military carbon cloth that is particularly effective in removing smoke from the air.
