Red Throated Conure—3 Tips for Care

The Red Throated Conure Parrot (also referred to as the Red Throated Parakeet, or the Orange Throated Conure) is a very beautiful and rare pet parrot.

If you are lucky enough to own one of these beautiful parrots, here are 3 tips for care that will insure a long and happy life for your Red Throated beauty.

Provide an opportunity daily for them to bathe. You can do this by misting them with warm water, or setting a small bowl of water in their cage. A shower perch is also an excellent way to have them bathe and to spend time with you as well. Make sure to place your shower perch away from the main stream of water and adjust the water to produce a very fine mist.

Clean up droppings as often as necessary to keep their cage clean, and prevent dried dropping from going airborne, being inhaled by birds and humans, and possibly causing disease and infections for both you and your birds.

Keep dander and airborne pollutants low by filtering their air with a high efficiency particle arresting air purifier. You and your birds are exposed to far more airborne pollutants in your bird room than is normal for either of you. Constant filtration makes the air healthier to breathe.

An excellent HEPA air purifier to remove dander, feathers, dust and other airborne pollutants from your Red Throated Conure’s air is offered by PurerAir.com—the Bird Dander Air Purifier.
