Austin Air Purifiers—Replacing Filters in the Older Models

If you have an Austin Air Purifier made before 2000, or even before 1995, you can attest first-hand to the fine craftsmanship, and longevity of Austin Air purifiers! Long live Austin Air, right? But if you are now planning to replace the filter in your older purifier, here are 3 tips.

1. Call us at (800) 997-2989 with your serial number found on the back, but with older models, look on the bottom of the purifier as well.

2. Look for the date of manufacture on the bottom of the unit. If the date is 1995 or after you can replace it with any Austin Air replacement filter (standard size for standard unit, and junior size for junior unit). If the date of manufacture is before 1995, only the HEGA replacement filter will fit.

3. Casters are an excellent way to determine whether your unit is the standard or junior size model. If your unit came with casters, you have a standard size model. If your unit came without casters or you had casters added at the factory, or after you received it, you most probably have a junior sized unit. Also, measuring the unit would also give you some idea of standard or junior size. Click on the following link to read more Austin Air replacement filter tips.
