Austin Air Purifiers and Lymphoma

My husband and I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. He and his wife are wonderful people, and have been especially kind to our little girl. We were saddened to hear the diagnosis, but our friend was really upbeat and positive going in to chemotheraphy. After several rounds, his schedule had to be delayed because of infections. We offered to give him an Austin Air purifier to help keep the air free of germs and bacteria that would be more likely to cause infection because of his weakened immune system. He said he didn't think he needed anything like that, and he said he would continue on without a purifier. Several weeks later he contracted another infection, again causing a delay in the chemotheraphy schedule. We offered again and assured him that if he didn't feel that the purifier helped him, we would come and pick it up from his home. We sent the purifier to him in May, and there has been no talk of returning it!
