Improving Beauty Parlor Ambiance

The beauty parlor, even during economically challenging times, is one of the last niceties to be slashed when budget cuts become necessary. Here are 4 ways to improve your salon’s atmosphere thus rewarding your clients’ for their loyalty.

Freshen the walls with a coat of paint. This is an inexpensive but effective way to give your salon a face lift. There are paints on the market now that contain low or no volatile organic chemicals which would all but eliminate the fumes that are usually associated with painting.

Replace old or torn styling and dryer chairs with ones that are in better condition. Save money if necessary and buy used equipment that is still in good condition. Keep your eyes open for auctions or sales that will allow you to get the most for your money.

Keep the door closed to your shop. This creates the desired feeling of being away from it all, and shutting out the world if just for a little while. Closing the door prevents dust, dirt, and noise from intruding on a relaxing experience.

Use an air purifier to remove chemical smells, smoke from curling irons, as well as chemicals that are released from materials that are used for manicures and pedicures. Removing the unpleasant and harmful odors that off gas from these products makes your shop smell clean and healthy.

And clean air is good not only for your customers, but for you and your fellow stylists as well.

PurerAir.com offers an air purifier with removing airborne chemicals from beauty parlors in mind. See it now at http://purerair.com/beauty_salon_purifier.html

Crop Dusting Chemicals and Indoor Air Quality

Many people who live near farms are exposed to crop dusting. Many have accepted pesticides being sprayed from the air as a part of life, and those involved in the industry believe that if applied correctly, there is no hazard to humans, animals or the environment.

But if the plane misses his mark, or the wind picks up or shifts unexpectedly, pesticides can fall on your home causing you and your family to be unexpectedly up close and personal with these chemicals. And while a fine issued for the mistake may be some consolation, it doesn’t come close to helping you deal with the problem.

How then can you make sure your indoor air quality remains high regardless of what’s going on outside your home? The answer is to filter your air with a purifier that contains a high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) filter, and that also contains a filter that is specifically designed to remove airborne chemicals.

Edward called for a chemical air purifier because his daughter in Texas is suffering from the increased in particulates that she links to crop dusting.

Margaret called and asked that her purifier being sent to Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada be packaged really well because she didn’t want any of the pesticides from the crop dusting to be able to get into her package and enter her home.

This widely practiced elimination of pests causes a great many problems for a large number of people all around the world. They can enter your home though doors and windows, on clothes and packages, and even in your pet's fur.

If these airborne chemicals are affecting you, PurerAir.com offers the HealthMate Plus Air Purifier to remove airborne chemicals from your indoor air. You can see this purifier now at http://purerair.com/healthmate_plus.html

Air Quality in Classroom Trailers

A teacher called yesterday to inquire about an air purifier for a classroom trailer. She complained of headaches and said they occurred whenever she was in her classroom.

Unfortunately, many school systems are using trailers to provide classroom space that is unavailable because of over crowding and under budgeting. But the air quality in these trailer classrooms creates just as big a problem.

Trailers are manufactured on level slabs, but once they are moved, placed on ground that is not level, and start to settle the seals break which allow chemicals and such as formaldehyde and other volatile organic chemicals to off gas into the air.

These chemicals can cause acute symptoms such as dizziness, headaches, stinging eyes, burning throat, as well as more serious and long lasting health problems.

Opening doors and windows is often not a desirable option, and is short lived at best. So what can be done to eliminate the constant off gassing that can occur in a trailer?

The answer is a purifier whose filter is equipped to eliminate airborne chemicals. If in addition, this cleaner also contains a HEPA (or high efficiency particle arresting) filter, it will also be able to remove airborne viruses and bacteria. These germs are a high percentage of the reasons that cause teachers and students to be absent due to illness.

PurerAir.com offers a purifier that contains both a HEPA and a chemical filter, is portable yet heavy duty in its ability to constantly filter out harmful particles and airborne chemicals. And eliminating airborne chemicals will not only help the teacher, but the students too.

Cheap Air Purifier Features

Ever wonder exactly what a cheap air purifier is? First let’s look at some of the most common reasons for wanting to buy an air purifier.

Pet hair, bird dander, smoke smell from the neighbor’s apartment, and airborne chemicals off gassing from mobile homes, new carpet, and paint fumes are all high on the list of indoor air quality issues.

So in order for an air purifier to be cheap, it needs to address the particular airborne pollutants that are causing you a problem, do it effectively, and not cost a lot.

And it is exactly those 3 areas that can make it confusing to determine whether the purifier is really cheap, or simply has a low purchase cost.

To truly decide whether an air purifier is inexpensive is to not only consider the cost to purchase it, but the cost to operate it as well.

Based on the purchase price, a cheap air purifier should be guaranteed to run only pennies a day for the next five years without a filter change, or any out-of-pocket expenses for repair.

So when you’re shopping, multiply the number of years on the warranty then divide that number by the purchase cost. For instance if the purchase cost is $269.99 and it comes with a one year warranty, $269.99 divided by 365 gives you a cost of 74 cents a day.

If the price of the purifier is $299.99 but has a 5 year warranty, using the same math, the price per day is only 16 cents a day. Having done the math, I think you’ll agree that the purchase price does not always make it cheaper.

You can have your pick of air purifiers that have 5 year warranties, and 5 year prorated filter warranties at http://purerair.com/austin_air_products.html

Cat Litter Box Hints That Work

Coming home to cat urine smell because your cat didn’t use the litter box is no fun. Teaching your cat to use the litter box takes time. But with patience, consistency and these 4 tips, you’ll have a cat that heads for the litter box the first time, every time.

1. Frequent cleaning of the box helps keep it smelling fresh, not just to you, but more importantly to your cat. Their sense of smell is far keener than the human nose, and a clean box will more likely be rewarded with use by your cat.

2. Choose an unscented litter for the box. Cats can be finicky, and you are more likely to meet with success with an unscented brand.

3. Put the box in a place that is private so that your cat feels secure when they are doing their business.

4. Be sensitive to the type of litter box that your cat likes. Start with the open flat style tray, and if that style makes your cat happy, you’ve done your job. If that doesn't work, experiment with other styles until you find one that works.

Sometimes, regardless of all the things that we do right, accidents will happen. And as a cat owner, you know first hand how strong cat urine odor can be, and how hard it can be to really get rid of it.

That’s why an air purifier with a filter especially designed to remove pet urine odor is the perfect solution.

Natural Relief from Immune Deficiency

An immune deficiency disorder can turn normal germs into a life threatening situation because of the body’s inability to effectively fight off their harmful effects. And though there is no quick and easy solution, here are 3 natural ways to help you reduce the number of germs to which you are exposed each day.

Hand washing seems like such a basic, but it is still one of the most effective ways to cut down on the number of germs that get on your hands from door knobs, hand rails, telephones, and the mail to name a few. Washing your hands consistently before you rub your eyes or use your hands to eat will considerably reduce the number of germs that enter your body. When water is not available, carrying a small bottle of sanitizer is a great substitute.

A balanced diet can play a huge role in boosting the immune system. Fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meat and fish, and whole grains are all great choices. Avoid “junk food” that is high in sugar, salt, and additives as it tends to be high in calories and fat with very little nutritional value. Choosing healthy foods will provide your body with nutrients that can do nothing but improve the way your immune system functions.

Airborne germs, bacteria, and viruses also need to be eliminated from the air as many infections begin by inhaling germs that are able to travel from one host to another. One of the best ways to eliminate these invisible but harmful germs from the air is to use a high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) air purifier.

By definition, a HEPA air purifier can remove airborne bacteria and viruses as small as .3 microns. And even though viruses tend to be smaller than .3 microns, they travel by attaching to larger particles such as household dust, dust mites, dander, and other common pollutants. So by removing the larger particles from the air, it is removing viruses as well.

PurerAir.com offers a HEPA air purifier for immune deficiency. See it now at http://purerair.com/immune_deficiency_air_purifier.html

Friend with Lymphoma in Remission

In April 2006 our friend Bob was diagnosed with Lymphoma. We were shocked to hear about his cancer, and were all anxious about what the outcome might be. His doctors prescribed a rigorous chemotherapy schedule.

As one might expect this was a miserable time for Bob both physically and emotionally. Several times his chemotherapy had to be delayed because of infections. And because his wife is a school teacher and exposed to so many germs, they decided she would live elsewhere to avoid introducing more germs while his immune system was so compromised.

We offered to make a gift of the HealthMate HEPA Air Purifier to Bob from the beginning, but he thanked us very politely and declined. After the second infection struck and caused a delay in his treatments, he took us up on the offer of the air purifier.

Several days after he received it, he called to thank us and tell us how amazed he was at how quickly it made a difference to how he felt. It allowed him to stay on schedule with treatments without being delayed by any further infections.

Bob returned the air purifier we sent this month, as he has been in remission for over a year now! Yay Bob! He never had to change the filter or do any maintenance during the 3 years he had it. He said that it literally saved his life, and will happily tell anyone the same.

If your immune system is compromised for any reason, the HealthMate Air Purifier from PurerAir.com can be your partner in good health too.

Pet Birds and Asthma Attacks

Jenny called tonight because as she was cleaning her pet birds’ room, she had an asthma attack. She has a Cockatoo, a Caique, and a Macaw.

Here are a few suggestions for Jenny and others who find themselves in a similar situation that will help avoid future asthma flare ups due to the pet birds in their homes.

First, ask someone else who is not sensitive to bird dander and dust to clean the room for you. Second, wear a mask if you have not cleaned the room and suspect that you will send a lot of dander and dust airborne as you clean. And third, clean as often as necessary to keep dander and dust down, and be sure to use damp cloths and mops to lessen the amount of particulates that are available for inhalation and ingestion.

And while these suggestions will help Jenny and her asthma, think about the air that the 3 birds are breathing day in and day out, and the further drop in air quality as Jenny cleaned the room.

The only way to keep the air in the room clean continuously for the birds is to filter it with a high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) air purifier. Without constant filtration the birds are being forced to breathe air that is thick with dander, feathers, and other particulates that are common in homes such as dust, pollen, bacteria, and viruses.

As any experienced bird owner knows, bird air passages clog easily, and this often leads to disease and infection that is many times near impossible to reverse.

The Cockatoo alone produces a ton of white powder as well as dander. Add that to the pollutants that 2 other birds produce and you are putting the birds at great risk by not filtering their air.

For multiple birds (especially if one or more is a powder down bird like a Cockatoo, African Grey, or Cockatiel) we recommend multiple purifiers that can handle the job.

Jenny did the right thing for her asthma and her birds when she chose 2 of the Pet Dander Air Purifiers—one for the birds’ room and one for the rest of her home.

Tips for a Healthy Pregnancy

Being pregnant is one of the great marvels of life. And a healthy pregnancy greatly increases the chances that your baby will be healthy.

Even before going to see a doctor, most of us can imagine what a healthy pregnancy involves—eating a balanced diet, avoiding excess weight gain, getting plenty of rest, continuing to stay active as your healthy allows, limiting all but necessary medicines, and avoiding smoke and alcohol.

One of the hugely important tips that is often overlooked is making sure that during pregnancy the mom is breathing the cleanest freshest air possible. This means air that is free of chemicals and smoke, and other airborne pollutants that can effect the baby and cause conditions for which the mom needs to be medicated.

During pregnancy, generally the more non-invasive the solution is the less effect it has on the baby. That’s why a HEPA air purifier that can filter out airborne pollutants can make a tremendous difference to both mom and baby.

Avoiding colds, allergy and asthma symptoms, and keeping the mother’s immune system strong are all benefits of continuous air filtration.

Having an air purifier as a partner for good health during pregnancy, and especially after the baby is born is a smart and cost effective decision.

PurerAir.com offers the HealthMate Air Purifier as pregnant mom’s partner for good health, and one that can continue on as a partner for your newborn’s good health as well.

Safe Air Freshener for Birds

Recently we had a client to call and ask if we offered an air freshener that was safe for birds. After several questions we found that the customer was looking for something to add to the air that was safe for his bird.

The safest thing you can do to your bird’s air is to remove everything possible from the air. And in your home, there are a staggering amount of airborne pollutants created by your bird such as feathers, dander, and in some, dust from their wings.

Add normal household pollutants such as dust, dust mites, pollen, dander from other pets, and other gases, odors, and chemicals generated from the kitchen, bathroom, and household cleaning products to the bird-related pollutants, and you’ve got unhealthy air that’s really bad for your bird.

Because birds’ air passages are so easily clogged, airborne pollutants often lead to disease and infection. And because birds are programmed to hide symptoms, by the time they look ill it’s often too late to help them survive.

Don’t take a chance with your bird’s health. Rather than adding anything to the air, we suggested that this client use an air purifier to remove the feathers, dander and dust and all the other usual household pollutants from the air.

A high efficiency particle arresting (or HEPA) air purifier will increase the air quality for birds and humans. He took our advice, and he and his bird will have a healthier life because of it.

American Made Air Purifiers

American made air purifiers are increasingly hard to find. With so many companies outsourcing their manufacturing process to countries abroad, American made air purifiers whose manufacturing process is done totally in the United States are rare.

Austin Air Purifiers are manufactured in Buffalo, New York at a plant that contains approximately 450,000 square feet and is the largest air cleaner manufacturing facility in the world.

Born out of necessity, the company was founded by Joyce and Richard Taylor in 1990 because of Joyce’s severe allergies. The couple started by making purifiers in their home and were successful at creating purifiers that finally gave Joyce relief.

The business grew by leaps and bounds as more people discovered that these purifiers were so effective in helping Joyce. And as they say, the rest is history.

Austin Air purifiers remove both particulate and gaseous pollutants by using a HEPA filter for the particulates and an inner filter to address gases, chemicals and odors.

Austin has continued to expand its offerings with an inner filter for smoke, one for chemicals, and now the latest filter for pet urine odor.

Today Austin Air is still an American family owned business that employs approximately 100 people.

PurerAir.com offers the full the full line of Austin Air purifiers and replacement filters that eliminate airborne pollutants including dust, smoke, chemicals, pet dander, and pet urine odor.

5 Sources of Pet Odor In Dogs

If your dog has odor that is causing your home to smell less than fresh, it can be embarrassing when friends and family visit, and unpleasant for you each time you return home Here are 5 possible sources of dog odor and a solution that works regardless of the source

Tooth Decay—Sometimes, particularly in older dogs, there is tooth decay or gum disease that can cause your dog’s breath to smell unpleasant. When your dog pants with an open mouth, it can send this smell all through your home. Consult with your veterinarian. Tooth cleaning, removal of decayed teeth, and bones and treats that are designed to help clean teeth are all ways that you can help your dog and your air.

Diarrhea—Lose stool can cause an otherwise well trained dog to have accidents frequent accidents. This may indicate stomach problems or other problems not at first evident. Seek professional help as diarrhea can cause dehydration fairly quickly.

A Roll in the Hay
—Dogs will be dogs, and sometimes they just decide to go roll in something that smell really foul. If you have a dog door that allows them to come and go freely without your being there, you may come home that reeks. A bath will help, but the smell can linger for quite a while.

Doggie Smell—If you don’t bathe your dog regularly, they can sometimes develop a smell that is best described as just “doggie” particularly in rooms where they spend most of their time. Bathing is an option, but in the meantime the smell persists.

Incontinence—Older dogs often become incontinent and leak urine on the floor, rugs, and furniture. Urine is probably one of the hardest smells to remove and there is little you can do to stop incontinence.

That’s why the Pet Machine Air Purifier is the answer to all of these problems. Designed to specifically eliminate dog urine odor, and urine odors from all other types of warm blooded pets, your home can continue to smell fresh despite issues that your dog may be having.

Air Purifier Features That Save You Money

If you are searching for an air purifier as a way to improve indoor air quality in your home or office, you’ll want to select a purifier that is not only effective in removing pollutants, but one that can save you money as well. Choosing the following 5 features in an air purifier will continue to save you money for all the years that you own it.

1. Long Term Warranty
--A purifier with at least a 5 year warranty means you will avoid having to buy a new one or pay for expensive repairs should anything go wrong after you’ve purchased it.

2. Long Filter Life-—A purifier that has a 5 year filter life means less out of pocket expenses and overall all cost to operate your purifier. A filter life of 5 years mean the only cost to filter your air over the next 5 years is the electricity required to run it.

3. Low Energy Cost to Operate-—A purifier that uses minimal power to operate efficiently is the best of all worlds. An air purifier whose power consumption equals that of a 60 watt light bulb will yield not only clean air, but will take less of your money to operate.

4. A Prorated Filter Warranty-—Very few air purifiers come with a filter that is guaranteed and backed by a prorated warranty of 5 years. Purchasing an air purifier with this type of guarantee on the filter provides an additional cost savings should anything go wrong with your filter.

5. Low Cost Filter Replacement-—Replacement filters that are low in cost, easy to obtain, and replace make your air purifier an asset rather than a liability.

The HealthMate Air Purifier has all of these features and more. See why it can save you money now at http://purerair.com/healthmate_hm400.html

Removing Airborne Office Chemicals

Airborne chemicals in your office can range from “wish I didn’t have to breathe this air every day” to “these smells are making me feel really bad”. Office air quality is a growing concern, as more people have become highly sensitive to airborne chemicals that seem to play more of a part in the manufacture of office equipment and supplies.

Numerous products frequently used in offices can be the source of chemical fumes and vapors. The toner from copy machines, fumes from carpet and the adhesives used to glue it; office furniture, paint, drywall, varnish, and wood stains that come with an office remodel can all cause a serious and unhealthy drop in air quality.

Regardless of whether you own the business and lease the space, or are employed to work in a space other than your home, many find themselves at the mercy of filtration that is not adequate to remove these volatile organic chemicals that make your work place unhealthy, and make you feel unproductive at best.

Revamping the entire filtration system would be costly, and is unlikely to happen. So how do you gain control over the air you breathe each day in your office? The answer is to take control of your air quality by filtering the air with a portable, heavy duty air purifier.

An air purifier with a filter designed specifically to eliminate airborne chemicals is a proactive way to regain control over indoor air quality. Demonstrating to your office that you care enough about their well being to go on the offensive against poor air quality can only increase office moral which gives your office a huge advantage over many others.

And if you are employed in an office, using a portable air purifier means clean, fresh air is always as close as the nearest outlet whether you move within the office, or to another location or company.

HEPA Air Purifiers and Allergies

HEPA air purifiers are best at removing fine and not so fine particulates from the air. HEPA is a shorter way of referring to a high efficiency particle arresting air purifier, and is the same technology used by hospitals to insure clean air.

Their highly efficient cleaning capability is defined as 99.97% efficiency down to .3 microns. So how do these purifiers help those who suffer with allergies?

Many of the allergens that send allergy sufferers’ bodies into overdrive with sneezing, coughing, congestion, runny noses, and watering eyes are fine airborne particulates. They include but are not limited to pollen, pet dander, mold and mildew spores, household dust and dust mites.

All of these allergens range from being relatively large and visible to sub micron in size and invisible. Some of them like household dust are easily seen on furniture and floors once they have fallen from the air. Other lighter allergens are invisible because of their sub micron size and can remain in the air for a longer period of time making them much more likely to be inhaled or ingested.

Using an air purifier to constantly reduce the number of allergens in the air provides constant relief for those who suffer with allergies, asthma, and other respiratory conditions that are aggravated by the presence of these allergens in the air.

And when allergies are seasonal, having an indoor space that is a clean space, virtually free of the offending allergen makes your home or office a pleasant place to be even when the outdoors is not.

As its name suggests, the Allergy Machine Air Purifier is a HEPA air purifier that is able to provide relief from allergies whether they are triggered seasonally, or are more chronic in nature because of indoor pollutants such as mites and dust.

Recommend by allergists as an important, non-invasive tool to have for allergy management, you can see a video of this HEPA air purifier at work now at http://purerair.com/allergy_machine.html

Pet Hair Allergies

If you have a pet, you have lots of pet hair which is probably not a surprise. What is probably surprising is that the pet hair bothers you by causing sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose and a lot of other annoying symptoms.

It’s natural to blame pet hair for your allergy-like symptoms, but it may not be the culprit at all. Pet hair is not generally an allergen, and by itself does not cause allergic reactions.

Pet hair allows airborne particles such as invisible pet dander, pollen, household dust, mold and mildew spores, and pollen to attach to it. And it is these other well known allergens that cause allergy sufferers such misery.

So getting rid of pet hair would also mean getting rid of a lot of airborne allergens as well. Using an air purifier that will effectively eliminate pet hair and dander is an excellent way to do this.

The Pet Dander Air Purifier removes pet hair from cats, dogs, bunnies, ferrets, as well as bird dander and feathers. In addition, this purifier will also remove airborne pollutants down to .3 microns making it an excellent solution for those with respiratory conditions such as asthma and allergies.

The best thing about using the Pet Dander Air Purifier is that it doesn’t interfere with your lifestyle because it is low in maintenance and is not something you must constantly remember to do.

When it arrives at your door, mark your calendar 5 years from that date. That’s when you’ll need the first filter change.

You don’t have to suffer one minute longer because pet hair is helping other airborne allergens make you sick.

See the Pet Dander Air Purifier now at http://purerair.com/pet_dander_air_purifier.html and change what you breathe and how you feel starting today.

Eliminate Pet Odor in Your Home

If you want to eliminate pet odor in your home, here are 5 easy tips that will lead to a cleaner, fresher smelling home all the time.

1. One of the best ways to eliminate odor is to avoid it. Be sure to keep litter boxes clean not only to eliminate odor, but to encourage your pet to use it. Their noses are even more sensitive than human noses, and a clean litter box encourages your pet to use it and prevents accidents that are next to impossible to reach and/or clean.

2. Reward your pet for proper toilet etiquette. Make sure you do this immediately after elimination so that your pet is sure to make the connection between good behavior and the treat. Eventually the need to do this will decrease. And you’ll be left with fewer accidents to clean.

3. When accidents happen, and they will, clean up as quickly as possible. Use a cleaner that is pet friendly, but that will also neutralize the smell. Your veterinarian is an excellent resource for product suggestions based specifically on your pet.

4. Until your pet is reliable, limit access to hard to clean areas of your home, particularly while you’re away. Choose areas with floors that can be easily cleaned such as linoleum or tile.

5. Use an air purifier that has a filter specifically designed to eliminate pet odor. Allowing a pet odor air purifier eliminate pet odor 24 hours means you will always come home to a fresh smelling home even if it wasn’t a perfect day in the life of your pet.

Eliminate pet odor for good with the Pet Machine Air Purifier. Take a look at it now at http://purerair.com/austin_air_pet_machine.html

Making Your Home Green—5 Tips for Healthier Indoor Living

If you want a home that is “green” and environmentally friendly, here are 5 ways to get the most for the money you spend.

Double or triple pane windows, and thermal doors with tight seals mean you keep out the heat and the cold more efficiently which means you use less energy to keep the temperature in your home comfortable.

Appliances that are energy star rated assure that they use less water and/or energy which reduce daily consumption and adds up to much less energy use over a lifetime. And of course using less energy means you save money as well.

Use earth friendly materials such as flooring and furniture made from recycled products. This helps preserve our natural resources. Using old flooring, furniture, and architectural pieces that have been salvaged from older homes is an excellent way to reuse and recycle. These seemingly small touches in a home make a big difference to the environment and make an elegant addition to any home.

Organic fabrics, carpets, and other products mean fewer chemicals to off gas into your air. This means better air quality which means a healthier lifestyle.

And whereas a green home has far better air quality than a home that is not, there are still some airborne pollutants to which a green home is still susceptible. Pollutants such as household dust, dust mites, mold and mildew spores, pet dander are all more likely to remain trapped because a green home is so well insulated.

Using the HealthMate Air Purifier is a very “green” solution for eliminating these airborne pollutants. It uses the same amount of energy as a 60 watt light bulb, is designed to run 24 hours every day, and needs its filter changed once every 5 years. It contains a HEPA filter that will eliminate sub micron size particles as small as .3 microns, and an inner filter to remove gases, odors, and chemicals.

Can HEPA Purifiers Remove Odors?

“Can HEPA purifiers remove odors” is a question that many of our customers ask about daily. HEPA or high efficiency particle arresting air filters are best at removing airborne particulates.

But if the purifier also has other filters that are designed to remove odors, gases, and chemicals, then one purifier can do it all.

The best way to eliminate various types of airborne pollutants with one purifier is to have a cleaner that contains filters designed eliminate different pollutants all within one purifier.

By incorporating filters that will remove particles as well as odors, gases, and chemicals it saves time, money, filter changes, and space that would be taken up by multiple air cleaners.

PurerAir.com offers such a purifier with not one, two, or 3, but 4 filters—each targeting a different pollutant found in indoor air. It only needs 6 inches clearance from any wall, and has a filter life of 5 years.

Don’t Let Cat Dander Break the Sale

A Realtor on a popular TV program was showing a home to potential buyers. The couple had been looking for a while, and really liked a lot of the features this home had to offer. But 5 minutes into the showing, the wife’s throat started to close up, her eyes began to water, and she started to look for evidence of a cat. She found the litter box around a corner in the utility room. And as a result cat dander was the deal breaker. They did not buy the home.

This was an amazing example (that unfolded right in front of my eyes) of how much cat dander can affect those who are allergic to it. The home they were considering was immaculate, and beautifully decorated.

Neither those looking from their televisions or the husband and Realtor on the show had any idea that a cat lived there. That’s because dander is invisible to the naked eye, but can remain airborne, or be sent airborne by simply walking through a room.

Obviously having a clean and beautiful home does not eliminate dander or the immediate effects it can have on someone who is allergic to it.

Using a high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) air purifier could have solved this problem. Why? Because by definition a HEPA purifier will eliminate particulates (like cat dander) as small as .3 microns, and do it 24 hours a day.

PurerAir.com offers the Cat Dander Air Purifier that is designed to remove the invisible particles that you can’t see but that linger in the air. Designed to run 24 hours, it provides clean, fresh dander-free air all the time.

So whether you are opening your home to potential buyers, or you just don’t want to breathe in these fine particulates day after day, the Cat Dander Air Purifier can help.

Keeping Your Older Dog Young

If you have an older dog, you have been fortunate enough to make many happy memories. And even though time is passing, you can do a lot to help your dog continue to feel young. Here are 4 easy tips.

1. Keep yearly wellness appointments with you vet, and seek immediate advice from your vet for any unusual symptoms or behaviors. When there are problems, the sooner you seek help, the better chances are that the condition can be handled favorably.

2. Be sure to protect your dog monthly from heart worms, fleas and ticks. These are all easily done and avoiding disease and infections from these parasites can help your dog maintain an excellent quality of life as well as greatly increase life span.

3. Keep your dog fit by providing daily exercise. Walking, tossing the Frisbee, or swimming are all excellent ways to prevent your dog from becoming a couch potato. Be careful not to over feed your dog with table scraps or dog food. Your dog’s ideal weight is another area where advice from your vet is invaluable. Keeping your dog’s waistline trim will go a long way towards preventing diabetes and joint problems, and will keep him energized and ready to go.

4. Groom your dog regularly. Ask your vet about bath frequency and products that are safe. This will means less dog hair and dander, and will yield healthier skin. This also has the potential to lessen hot spots and use of antibiotics and steroids to control them.

And should your dog become incontinent, clean up with products that are safe for your dog, family, and the environment.

Another non-invasive way to remove dog hair, dander, and dog urine odor is with the Pet Machine Air Purifier offered by PurerAir.com. The high efficiency particle arresting (HEPA) filter will remove the dog hair and dander, and the inner filter of ammonasorb will remove the urine odor.

And since you can’t be there every minute, the Pet Machine Air Purifier will allow you to enter a home that smells fresh and clean regardless of what happened while you were away.

PurerAir.com has sent this air purifier to numerous kennels and to countless homes of dog lovers throughout the United States and Canada.

Giving Pills to Dogs—4 Ways to Make it Fun

If dog owners from a hundred years ago could see the pills we are able to give our dogs today, they would be amazed. The ability to diagnose and give medicine has increased the quality of our dogs’ lives and their life spans. The trick is to get your dog to take his medicine.

So for those of us left holding the pills, here are 4 quick and easy tips for getting your pooch to take meds with a smile.

1. Mix it in with the food. Pills probably have an equal chance of being undiscovered in either dry or canned food.

2. Cover them up with a small bit of peanut butter, or mashed potatoes. This can work like a charm.

3. Those dogs who are move skilled at separating pills, serve as an hor d’oeuvre by placing the peanut butter on a cracker with the pills for garnish. The cracker will hopefully serve to distract them from wanting to spit out the pills. The success of this will depend on the number and size of the pills.

4. Some dogs don’t mind the pills, and will look forward to them if they know a treat will follow. You dog will let you know what works best. Think outside the box with pig ears, home made treats, or even dogie ice cream. Yum.

While pills help us keep our dogs healthy, another non-invasive yet proactive way of keeping both you and your dog healthy is by filtering your air to provide the freshest and healthiest air possible.

A high efficiency particle arresting air purifier will remove dog hair and dander, as well as other common household pollutants that cause air quality and our health to suffer.
