What You Know About Mold Can Help You!

Unlike pollens, molds do not have a specific season, but are affected by climate. Outdoor mold spores reach their peak in July in warmer states and October in the colder states, and can be found all year long outdoors in the South and on the West coast. So here are some tips that will help.

1. Don't rake the leaves! (How long have you waited to hear that?) Raking stirs up mold.

2. Don't mow the lawn or be around freshly cut grass; mowing also stirs up pollens and molds.

3. Do limit the number of house plants you have, and be careful not to over water. Moist soil encourages mold growth.

4. Do close your windows at night to keep pollen and mold from blowing in. Use your Austin Air Allergy Machine hepa air purifier to give you and your family a restful night's sleep.
